About this guide
Who keeps To Scale
To Scale is written and edited by the Ruler desk, its editorial team, and carries no personal byline. It exists because the five Toronto and GTA casinos differ greatly in size; a reader can see the size of each before going.
The Ruler desk
The Ruler desk writes and edits To Scale. Its pages carry the desk's name as a single unit, never a personal byline. No payment reaches the site from casinos, OLG, the province or help services. Readers receive no rewards of any kind.
To Scale runs no casino, so nobody places a bet here and no player accounts exist. Commercial links appear on the home page only. They are marked Ad and all lead to a single online casino partner, which can be swapped for another. Those links serve players physically located in Ontario only.
How a figure is taken
The Ruler desk takes each figure from what the casino's own page shows now, its counter or its text, and dates it. Where no current figure exists, the guide prints no number. Where two current figures on official pages differ, the method page, How the ruler works, names both. The checks ran on October 7, 8 and 9, 2026, and each page shows the date of its check.
One ruler sets the drawings: one block is 100 machines, one tile is 1 live table game. A tower floor stands for 20 hotel rooms, and a block of seats for 100 people of stage capacity. Any remainder is drawn as a part block.
Where the pictures come from
Apart from one photograph, the site's pictures are drawings, and code draws the blocks of counts from the published figures. The isometric models of real places and the scenes with people came from an image generator, several based on real photographs. The Theatre model was drawn from a free-licence Wikimedia Commons photo by Canmenwalker. The one photograph, of the Woodbine marquee, is a free-licence Commons photo by Alan Spencer, credited under it. The people drawn are fictional; none works for a casino, OLG or Great Canadian Entertainment.

Where to write
Letters for the desk go to [email protected]. A letter may carry a correction, a figure that has changed, or a query on how the ruler and the guide operate. The inbox is the guide's own, and no casino reads it. A question for a casino goes to that casino's own phone line.
